Class
	Anti-inflammatory. Corticoteroid
Action
	A synthetic steroid that is effective as an anti-inflammatory. Also controls severe or incapacitating allergic conditions.
Indications
	Asthma. Severe anaphylaxis. Exacerbation of COPD.
Contraindications
	Known hypersensitivity.
Precaution
	Be aware of the possibilities of cardiac arrhythmias, circulatory collapse or cardiac arrest following the rapid administration of large IV doses > 0.5 gms over a period of 10 minutes.
Side effects
	Cardiac arrhythmias. Hypertension. Vertigo. Headache.
Administration
Rout: IV/IO/IM	Onset: 1-6 hours	Peak effect: 8 hours	Duration: 18-36 hours
Adult Dose:
	125 mg IV/IO push or IM.
Pediatric Dose:
	2mg/kg IV/IO Max 125mg
